Summerwine

"Strawberries cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things...

And there it goes June, how fast does time go?
Already heading down mid Summer... so fucking hot... I do love the nights though.
Ok, back to house cleaning. like Farrell says.
We had a lovely time in the mountains, I will try and share some photographs of it.
It was very sunny but it also rained, so my husband was able to go into the river but not swim.
The cabin, which is more like a cottage really, was beautiful.
We had bison one day and lamb on the other, it was a learning curve starting the grill with charcoal but it surely is worth it.
There was a picnic table out, the river was fiercely running and the birds chirping... all you need. really.
I do not drink much since college, I used to be able to withstand quite a bit.
Will never forget drinking a bottle of Chivas regal when I was in technical school and not even feeling that drunk, we were just talking in the veranda and on we kept.
Nowadays, I drink half a glass of beer and fall sleep, alcohol always made me sleepy and tired, I am lively when I do not drink.
Anyway, I do enjoy a good green wine, which is originally made where I come from, or a nice white.
Cannot stand anything else really, specially red.
We had a liquor store near, so we just walked there and bought a bottle, not too bad, not that awesome.
At night, the moon was big but the sky was a bit cloudy and it rained a bit, there were a bunch of caravans on the other side of the river, people were rather quite though, only during the day you would hear the kids playing around which is always nice.
I do have to mention that, when we were enjoying the night sky, we observed this bright white light ball, tiny thing, moving around, it was weird.
I was hoping it to be my first UFO but god knows...
We did go for a couple of strolls downtown, the next day. To have some ice-cream and hitting some local stores.
There were a lot of people, some wearing masks, some not.
Who the fuck cares really?
It is making us all cow mad.
Anyway, we did have a fireplace.... my only pre-requisite and it is summer and all, yeah I know... my cousin and sister were making fun of me when we exchanged some messages but I did it.
I lit it.
I needed to.
I miss it so damn much.
Even in the summer, my mother cooks in the wood stove and just the smell of the wood crackling and the taste of it on the rice and the meat, boy, nothing makes me feel more at home.
It was a little breezy even, it was around 15 Celsius at night, not cold but it gave me the opportunity.

Bad news though, we were twiddling our thumbs about the ill fated voyage to Europe.
Man, we have spent so much money with it already, first it was May, rental cars arranged, hotel for the Black Forest, connecting flights and major flight done and then, move it to September because of the plandemic... now, everyone is pushing the bucket and yeah cannot fly here, cannot fly there, quarantine here, quarantine there.
I mean, we could go, I am European but what then?
I want to have fun, see bookstores, markets, beaches, parks, eat at all these places and if things are not as they should and on top of that you might get stuck coming back???
Yeah, asked my folks and they agreed, we decided to move it to May, next year.
Fuck these assholes that created this mess.
Have not seen my friends and family in more than 3 years... Anyway, it will be for the best.
When we checked, there were not even flights to Portugal from here, and one of our legs had been cancelled and no one even told us, what if I needed to go, should I swim?
The operator at UA was quite nice and efficient though and things were moved.
Of course, the internal flight with Ryanair is still there because we cannot move it to May and they will not refund you.
The first time we had to move it, it was different company and we simply lost the money and had to book another one, it was like throwing 300 bucks to the black hole, plus all the money from moving rentals and hotel... do not even get me started....
I would hate being a flight operator, airline or hotel or anything to do with tourism right now, can you imagine, people demanding their refunds and companies being bailed out by their governments?
They better get this shit back to normal or we are doomed.
Fucking viruses do not die and no bail gates will save your fucking ass, he will stamp it good though, got get those barcodes on ya.
So yeah, that is pretty much it.

Finally got to buy some much needed clothes, not much though, nice cut dresses are hard to find, high waist trousers or skirts are impossible, anyway.
Did get a hold of a cocktail dress with ribbon and a peplum one, two cardigans and one short sleeve blouse.
The shoes are the harder part, got them online from DSW, there is none that I like at the stores I went... and DSW is far from me, so had to do what I detest, shop online, yuck.
The shoes I wanted, aka, 40s style, were all man-made materials, cheap, the leather ones were not quite the style I wanted...
I did manage to find two pairs in between.
Oh the joy, angels must sing.

Hair, hair, hair, finally got my two Q&A videos out, fuck was that a load of work.... and it still got folks bitching about not finding their answers and the video being too long, what about you watch it all when you have time and give me some credit?

Anyway, most of the people were thankful and appreciative, which is always nice.
But, seriously, I am so glad that I have put all of that together, all my opinions are finally out and my routine and toys, good job woman!
Now, I am recording and editing a video where my husband measures my hair, yay.
It was fun, not fun editing all of it because, of course, I had to add moi meme swishing my waves around.
I will post some photos from the video if I can get some snapshots...
Hair is currently between 175 and 177 cm, it kind of varies because one side is longer, so 69 and 70 inches.
But I am proud to say it is touching the floor already.
I also bought a couple of acrylic forks from a new store on Etsy, WindsSongsAttic.
I have never worn acrylic forks and I was excited to try,
One of them is super smooth and the other is twisted, like if it was a spiral, love the shape but that one is a little hard to wiggle into my hair, let us say it is probably my first and only time purchasing a spiral fork.
They are beautiful though if a tad small, just 12 centimetres or 5 inches.
I did contact her to make me a fork that is 15 centimetres and a stick that is 20 centimetres but she says she cannot because it would break,
I respect that, look what happened to me with Maple Burl
However, I got several 20 cm acrylic sticks from WEI and they are awesome... oh well, ended up just buying a couple of her longer sticks anyway because they are such beautiful pieces and they are twirly, hopefully I will manage the smaller size.

Work has been fine, boss is happy that they do not need to cover for me being away... course.
Ex boss and ex workmates are planning a little gathering, did not really want to but have to.
World is the same shit, right, rainbow lives matter and let us destroy some more statues and we are all super. Fuckers.

I finally finished my glassbead game, bloody hell, it took me a while, but boy... was it worth it....
Now reading the third way from good Old Joseph.

Enjoy Summer everybody.

  1. Hey Ligeia, glad to see you enjoyed some vacation time, the area does look lovely. I'm Lison, living far away from my home country as well, my mother planned to be there for my wedding, which ended up being a 30min ceremony in a tiny magistrate office with just my husband, the 2 witnesses and me, oh well at least I didn't spend 2000 bucks on a dress. It was raining like crazy and you know what they say... Anyhow, I've been watching you since the beginning, that was also in my first year of "caring for" my hair (2016), it's now about to be fingertip. Auburn too, 2b/2c and ii. Your Q&A was GREAT no matter what a couple of dumbass say, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I have a hard time finding clothes that fit my style and me too (don't hesitate to "parler chiffons", I would love to know where you get those stunning clothes and heels). Ok time to stop my rambling. Enjoy the clear and starry nights of summer

    1. I love when you guys that watch and read me come out from behind the bush, specially if you have a sense of humour and have interesting things to say.
It seems we have very similar hair. Classic or fingertip is a perfect length enjoy it!
My wedding was just me and husband, we did not really want to have people in it but my sister is the opposite, she wants a big, crazy party and I love that she wants that but with all this craziness, we have to do what we have to do.
Thank you for watching the Q&A, it was a first for me but I thoroughly enjoyed it, mostly to set the record straight and make sure people realize what I am doing here and what I am really about.
My clothes and shoes, you know I get that question a lot and I always say, it is not about the place you buy them at but your eye.
I buy clothes from all the regular stores out there to the vintage, thrift and second hand stores.
Sometimes, they have nothing that interests me and sometimes they do.
I have to say, vintage or second hand, usually have the most because the clothes and shoes are from the 80s, 60s, 50s or even 40s and they were much better made and with actual natural, long lasting fabrics.
The regular stores have clothes that do catch my eye these days, because of the revival of certain eras but the quality sucks.
Enjoy summer and hopefully you guys can have a gathering to celebrate your wedding soon!
